CELTA impressions

While the CELTA course I attended ended almost 3 weeks ago, the excitement of it hasn’t worn off yet.

The course I went to ran for 4 weeks, 5 days a week, around 10 hours a day. It was exhausting, tiring, and at times very hard. It was also exhilarating, fun, challenging and overall great. I’ve met many new people, all teachers like me, and we’ve become a tight-knit support group of colleagues that you can bounce ideas off of, who’ll read your lesson plan and offer comments, and who’ll even let you try out your instructions and activity ideas on them 😉

If you’re wondering if it’s worth it to attend CELTA, wonder no more. It is 110% worth it. At the same time, make sure that you’re ready to leave the rest of your life on hold for those weeks that you’re on the course, because you won’t have the time to do anything else. It requires commitment and it will be hard no matter your level of experience with teaching – the tutors will make sure that you’re challenged at every point of the course.

Have you finished CELTA? Are you still wondering whether it will be right for you? Be sure to let me know 🙂
